Enter your current and new tire sizes to see the real change in diameter, speedometer error and ground clearance, and which mud-terrains we track in the new size, with their measured weight and a dated price. The fuel section uses only your own MPG figures, never a guessed penalty.

Calculated from the size on the sidewall. Real tires measure differently by brand, often a little under nominal; the table below gives measured figures where we have them.

3. Fuel cost, from your own numbers
We do not publish an MPG penalty for mud tires because no one measures it consistently (why). Enter what you actually get, measured at the pump.
A taller tire makes the odometer under-count miles, so MPG worked out from it reads low. We correct the new-tire MPG for the diameter change in section 1 before comparing.

Specifications: tiresize.com model pages via our specification database. Prices: one retailer (SimpleTire), dated readings from our price tracker. Size arithmetic is standard: metric diameter = rim + 2 × width × aspect ratio; revolutions per mile = 63,360 ÷ (π × diameter). See also 33-inch, 35-inch and 37-inch mud tires.
