How the readings are taken

Each month the same nine listings are re-read and the figures appended to a stored history. Where a price cannot be read (a page moved, a size discontinued, a retailer blocking automated requests) the reading is recorded as missing rather than carried forward from last month. A gap in the data is information; a stale number pretending to be current is not.We publish the retailer and the date on every figure, as we do everywhere else on this site. The methodology page covers the general rule; the only thing different here is the frequency.

A caution about what this measures

This is one retailer’s listed price, not a market average. We know from our own research that the same tire in the same size can differ by 32% between retailers on the same day: a Maxxis RAZR MT in 35×12.50R20 was $487.91 at one and $369.35 at another on 10 September 2026.So read this page for the trend, not the absolute. If you are buying today, shop the size across several retailers; the spread between them is routinely larger than the spread between brands.
