Falken Wildpeak M/T
Falken’s mud-terrain, and the one that publishes the most about how its casing is actually built. It is also sold in two genuinely different load ranges under the same nominal size.

What Falken publishes
Three-ply DURASPEC sidewall construction with two high ply turn-ups. That is a construction specification a buyer can hold the manufacturer to, rather than a percentage improvement over an earlier tire.
What it does not publish
No noise figure with a stated baseline. No mileage warranty. No 3PMSF marking: Falken says the tire is M+S only.

The load range trap in this size
Falken offers LT285/70R17 in Load Range C as well as E, and the two are genuinely different tires: 116/113Q against 121/118Q, 18.1/32″ against 19.5/32″, 61.3 lb against 63.3 lb, and 2,755 lb at 50 psi against 3,195 lb at 80 psi. Correction (22 October 2026): this section and the table above originally gave the Load E and Load C tread depths as 20/32″ and 18/32″ and credited them to Falken. Those are tiresize.com’s figures; Falken’s own size list gives 19.5/32″ and 18.1/32″.
A buyer who wanted the E casing and bought from a listing showing only the size will be short 440 lb per corner. Check the part number, not the size. Load range explained covers what the letters actually commit a manufacturer to.
What is not published
Falken calls the Wildpeak M/T one of the quietest M/Ts on the market and credits a variable three-pitch tread pattern, but publishes no baseline and no measured figure, so it cannot be placed on a scale against Nitto’s percentages. A retailer weight discrepancy was recorded in September 2026: one retailer database listed the Wildpeak at 51.6 lb where Falken and tiresize both say 63.3 lb in LT285/70R17. See what the spec sheets get wrong.

Across retailers on 10 September 2026 the same tire ranged from $303.96 to $400.00 on the same day. Stepping from 35×12.50R17 to 37×12.50R17 adds 2.2 lb per tire on the tiresize figures (79.6 lb to 81.8 lb), the smallest jump of the five tires listed in both sizes.
