Privacy Policy
Last updated 30 September 2026. We collect as little as possible, run no advertising trackers, and sell nothing to anyone. This page describes what the site actually loads, checked line by line against it.
What we collect
Email. There is no contact form on this site. The only way to reach us is by email, at cole@mudtires.org, which is also in the footer and on the Contact page. If you write to us we keep your message and your email address so we can reply, and so there is a record of any correction raised against a published page.
Newsletter. There is no newsletter signup on the site at the moment, so no email addresses are collected that way. If one is added, this section is updated before it goes live.
Server logs. Our host records standard technical data on each request: IP address, browser user agent, page requested. These exist for security and troubleshooting and are not used to build a profile of you.
Cookies
We set no advertising cookies and run no advertising pixels. The site uses functional cookies. Our caching layer may set one to serve pages correctly, and WordPress sets a session cookie for signed-in administrators, and Google Analytics 4 sets first-party cookies so we can count visits and see which pages get read. Signed-in administrators are excluded from analytics. There is no cross-site tracking from this site.
What we don’t do
We do not run advertising pixels, session recording or heatmap tools. The site accepts no comments and embeds no third-party video, maps or social content. Where we point to a video, it is an ordinary link you choose to follow. We do not sell, rent or share personal data with third parties for marketing. No vendor receives your details, and no vendor can pay for placement or a better verdict.
How long we keep things
Emails you send us are retained for up to 24 months so we can trace the history of a correction, then deleted. Server logs follow our host’s standard retention, typically a matter of weeks.
Who processes your data
The site is hosted by Hostinger, which processes server logs on our behalf. Google receives data in two ways: Google Analytics 4 records pseudonymous usage data (pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type), and the site loads its typefaces from Google Fonts, which means Google’s servers see your IP address each time a page loads. Both are governed by Google’s own terms. No other third party receives your data.
Your rights
You can ask what personal data we hold about you, request a copy, ask for it to be corrected, or ask us to delete it. If you are in the UK or EU you hold these rights under the GDPR; in California, comparable rights under the CCPA. Email us and we will action it, normally within 30 days.
Changes to this policy
If we add or remove anything that touches your data (analytics, advertising, embedded content, a contact form), this page is updated and the date above changes. Google Analytics was added on 10 September 2026 and this policy was corrected the following day. The date above records the last time it was checked against what the site actually loads.
