Mud Tire Specification Database
Diameter, weight, tread depth and load rating for six mud-terrain tires in four common sizes — taken from a single source, in matched sizes, so every row is comparable with every other. Where a tire is not listed in a size, the row says so.

How to read this
Every figure on this page comes from one source — the tiresize.com model specification pages — read on the same day. That is deliberate. Specification databases disagree with each other, and a table that takes one tire’s weight from one retailer and another tire’s from a different one produces differences that are really differences between sources. One source, applied consistently, means a gap between two rows is a gap between two tires.
The trade-off is that a single source can be wrong. Where we have found this one contradicting itself, it is recorded below under “where the source is inconsistent”. Where other pages on this site quote a figure from a different source, that page names its source. Diameters are listed measurements, not the nominal size on the sidewall.
Load is shown as the listed maximum at its stated pressure, then the load index and load range. A maximum load is only meaningful alongside the pressure and load range it is quoted at — see load range explained.

All six carry the identical Load Range E rating — 3,195 lb at 80 psi. In this size, load capacity does not separate them at all. What does is mass and rubber: weight runs from 62.2 lb to 67.1 lb, a 4.9 lb spread, and tread depth from 18/32″ to 20/32″.
The Falken carries the deepest tread and the second-lightest casing. The BFGoodrich is the heaviest of the six and shares the shallowest tread with the Maxxis. The Toyo is the only one listed with a P speed rating rather than Q.

Four of the five tires listed are Load Range E at 65 psi. The Milestar is Load Range D — 2,600 lb at 50 psi, 485 lb per tire less than the others. A buyer comparing on the nominal size alone would not see that.
The Nitto, Toyo and Falken all list 21/32″ of tread here against the BFGoodrich’s 18/32″ — the widest depth gap in any size on this page. Maxxis is not listed in this size on the source.

The Toyo is the outlier on load, listed at 3,640 lb (125Q) where the others list 3,195 lb (121Q) in the same load range. The Maxxis is the lightest of the five at 73.9 lb; the Nitto the heaviest at 79.9 lb. Milestar is not listed in this size on the source.

None of the six measures a true 37 inches. The BFGoodrich is the smallest at 36.5″.
Five of the six are Load Range D at 50 psi, carrying 3,525 lb. The Maxxis is Load Range E at 65 psi and carries 3,970 lb. That is the reason it has the highest load rating in the size — it is a different load range, not a stronger version of the same tire. If you are buying 37s to carry weight, compare load ranges before you compare brands.
Weight spans 73.8 lb to 87.3 lb — a 13.5 lb spread per corner, or 54 lb of unsprung, rotating mass across a set of four between the lightest and heaviest.
What the tables show across sizes
The BFGoodrich KM3 lists 18/32″ of tread in all four sizes. In the three flotation sizes, the Nitto, Toyo and Falken all list 21/32″. The KM3 has the shallowest listed tread, or ties for it, in every size on this page.
The Milestar Patagonia M/T-02 is the lightest tire in every size it is listed in, and the cheapest in the price tracker. In 33×12.50R17 part of that is load range: it is listed as Load Range D where the others are E.
Tread depth is the only wear-life figure a buyer can check before paying on these tires, because none of them carries a mileage warranty or a UTQG treadwear grade — normal for light-truck sizes. Depth does not predict how fast a compound wears, only how much there is to wear.
Where the source is inconsistent
Two entries on the source contradict themselves, and we record them rather than quietly pick one.
Nitto Trail Grappler M/T, LT285/70R17: the source lists the Load Range C and Load Range E versions at an identical 66.4 lb and an identical 18.9/32″. The Falken’s C and E versions in the same size differ by 2 lb and 2/32″, so two load ranges sharing both figures exactly suggests one row was copied from the other. We show the E, which matches Nitto’s own weight figure.
Toyo Open Country M/T, LT285/70R17: the source lists the Load Range C at 65 lb and the Load Range E at 64 lb — the lighter-duty tire heavier than the heavier-duty one. We show the E and flag the figure as uncertain. For more cases of databases propagating errors, see what the spec sheets get wrong.
What is not in this table
Noise, snow and wet performance are not in these tables because no comparable figure exists for them. Only Nitto publishes a noise number, and it is measured against Nitto’s own Mud Grappler. None of the six carries three-peak mountain snowflake certification. No independent test covering all six was found.
Manufacturer claims, sidewall construction and warranty terms are on each model page, where they can be attributed to the company that made them. They are not specifications of the same kind, and mixing them into a size table would make them look more comparable than they are.
